About
A researcher who ships production AI.
I'm Dr. Anita Thakur — an accomplished AI/ML engineer and technical leader with more than 18 years spanning academic research and enterprise Generative AI deployment. My work sits at the intersection of applied research and production systems: extracting intent, entities, and features from unstructured text, chat transcripts, and noisy real-world data.
My hands-on stack today: NLP, Large Language Models, multi-agent orchestration, RAG systems, and production-scale AI architectures. I currently architect enterprise-grade GenAI solutions for Networks and ITOps teams at a global IT services and consulting organization, and lead an 8-member engineering team embedding Responsible AI and governance practices into delivery.
Research roots
Before enterprise AI, I founded and directed an AI/ML research lab at Amity University, where I taught graduate-level Deep Learning and Computer Vision for over a decade. I've published 24+ peer-reviewed papers in Wiley, Springer, and IEEE journals — accumulating 150+ citations, an h-index of 7, and one granted patent in AI-driven medical sensing.
I've supervised 15+ graduate theses with a 100% completion rate, with students placed at Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. I also partnered with three healthcare organizations to deploy diagnostic imaging models that improved diagnostic accuracy by 25%.
What I care about
Technical depth married to research rigor. Cross-functional influence without ego. And a governance mindset — Responsible AI, evaluation discipline, and bias monitoring — baked into how systems are built, not bolted on afterward. That's the standard I work to, and the standard I mentor toward.
